We ferried from Paros to Santorini via Sea Jets, soaking up views of the Cyclades on the top deck. The two-hour ride was breezy and beautiful—I was already eyeing Naxos for a future trip. When we arrived, a driver from Tholos Resort picked us up. We stayed in Imerovigli, perched on the caldera between Fira and Oia. While Oia gets the Instagram fame, Imerovigli’s views were jaw-dropping—calm, romantic, and uninterrupted.
The island felt otherworldly. Rugged cliffs, whitewashed buildings, and volcanic energy gave it a mystical vibe that left me in awe from morning to night.
On our first full day, we hiked the Caldera path from Imerovigli to Oia, a scenic 4–5 mile trail hugging the edge of the cliffs. It was a highlight—peaceful, epic, and rewarding. Once in Oia, we devoured Pito Gyros—the best gyro of my life—and explored local shops where I found beautiful silk scarves for my mom and mother-in-law.

The next day was packed with history. We explored Akrotiri, the Minoan “Pompeii” preserved by volcanic ash, and Ancient Thira, a mountaintop site with Greek, Roman, and even Egyptian remnants. Then we swung by Santorini Brewing Company, tasted a few beers, and brought a six-pack back to the hotel. That afternoon, we set out on a catamaran cruise. Sailing past cliffs, dipping into the warm (volcanically heated) springs, and watching the sunset from the boat.
On our final day, we returned to Oia dressed up for a photo shoot in front of the famous blue domes. These pictures are treasures. If I ever return to Santorini, I’d be perfectly content just sitting on a balcony with a glass of wine, soaking in the view. This island was truly breathtaking.
